Our bare root blackberry plants come with robust healthy roots to ensure optimal growth and yield. These vigorous plants are loaded with mycorrhizae fungi, which form symbiotic relationships with the roots, enhancing nutrient uptake and overall plant health. With healthy, well-established roots, our blackberry plants are primed for success, capable of thriving in various soil conditions. Upon receiving your bare root plants, soak the roots in water for a 1-2 hours before planting. Choose a sunny location with well-draining soil and space the plants adequately. Incorporating organic matter such as compost into the soil will further promote root development and growth. Regular watering, pruning, and fertilization will support vigorous growth and abundant fruit production. Invest in our bare root blackberry plants enriched with mycorrhizae fungi and witness the bounty of nature's partnership in your garden.
Planting instructions:
Choose a sunny location with well-draining soil for planting blackberries. Before planting, amend the soil with organic compost to improve its nutrient content and structure. Dig a hole large enough to accommodate the plant's root system and gently place the blackberry plant into the hole, ensuring the roots are spread out. Backfill with soil and water thoroughly. Apply a layer of wood chip mulch around the base of the plant to retain moisture and suppress weeds.
Growing: Blackberries thrive in moist, well-drained soil and require regular watering, especially during dry periods. Ensure the plants receive adequate sunlight for optimal growth and fruit production. As the blackberry canes grow, provide support such as a trellis or fence to keep them upright and prevent them from sprawling. Prune the canes after fruiting to encourage new growth and improve air circulation.
Fertilizing: Organic fertilizers such as rock dusts and compost are excellent choices for feeding blackberry plants. Apply rock dusts, which are rich in essential minerals, around the base of the plants to promote healthy growth and fruit development. Additionally, incorporate organic compost into the soil annually to replenish nutrients and improve soil fertility. Avoid over-fertilizing, as this can lead to excessive vegetative growth at the expense of fruit production. With proper care and organic fertilization, your blackberry plants will thrive and provide a bountiful harvest.
Warm regards, Rob
Please note: Due to the nature of live plants, returns are not accepted. However, we offer replacements for damaged plants. Thank you for your understanding!
